Gaming and Morality

An interesting question I often ask myself is when I play video games do I pick moral decisions based on my own views of what is good and evil or what gives me the greatest gameplay benefit?

It’s a question i think every gamer faces eventually. You meet with a character in a game who will give you the best weapon in the entire game but only if you commit an unspeakable act that you would never do in real life. Some would say that is fine as the actions you are doing are in fact not real and nobody is really getting hurt. Others would say it shows exactly how far people will go to obtain power and no matter how small the act may seem to others it shows you will do what is necessary in order to get ahead. personally I wont do actions if I don’t feel they are morally correct, at least until I have played a game enough to which I lose my sense of human interaction with the characters, but that’s just me.

So what do you all think about this and what choices in games have you done which fall into this topic? Comment and let everybody know! That’s all for now, and as always. It’s not just a game, It’s a Life.
