Cosplay Etiquette

Go go Power Range… Wait who’s that in the back?

I’ve been going to Comic-Cons for the past few years now. I’ve had my high points in them and my low points. At times I feel as though goin to a con is basically just walking about looking at stuff I can’t afford to buy, and then I remember that one of the most important aspects of Comic-Cons are of course cosplay.

I have cosplayed many different people during the times I have decided to actually dress up. Some of the more local ones I decide it’s too much hassle and just go as myself. One of the things I have always stuck to however is when I cosplay I stay in character. Take my first con for example, I went as a Team Flare grunt from Pokemon X and Y. While walking around I challenged other trainers to battles, said how fabulous I looked and struck the iconic Team Flare pose at all those who recognised me. Cosplay Etiquette is one of the most important aspects to making your costume come to life and to those who don’t believe it to be necessary I encourage you to try and stay in character at least once, you won’t want to go back.

So have any of you done cosplay? If so what did you dress as and did you stay in character? Share your experiences in the comments! That’s all for now, and as always. It’s not just a game, It’s a Life.
