It’s always nice to see an online game being made more easily accessible and following the admitted failure of developer Airship Syndicate’s beloved first foray into the MMO space, Wayfinder, it seems as though they are taking this lesson to heart.
They have decided to make the game pay to play, removing all microtransactions, giving it an offline mode and all of the previously purchasible items will now be earnable in-game. It all sounds like a bit of a dream come true for me personally as all this stuff is exactly the kind of thing I like to see in a game. Will I end up playing it? Unsure yet as the original game didn’t exactly grab me, but it’s nice to see some online games realising they aren’t all going to grab your attention for being your own personal live service game and instead just try to be a fun experience. Many other games should learn from that example…
That’s all for now, and as always. It’s not just a game, It’s a Life.
