Interestingly it seems as though a small amount of attention has been given to the release of a brand new game published by Square Enix on the Switch known as Triangle Strategy (what a terrible name). If the art style looks familiar then you may be thinking of the wonderful RPG Octopath Traveller which was released in the same ‘2D-HD’ style some years ago and this game absolutely takes inspiration from Octopath in many ways.
Triangle Strategy is a… well… strategy game that sees you controlling a group of generic fantasy characters in combat scenarios, make choices that can affect how the story progresses and is most similar in style to that of games like Final Fantasy Tactics. Apparently the game has a much higher emphasis on story and character development compared to Octopath so it’s nice to see that some new things are being explored in this type of world as I must say the art style is perhaps the thing that intrigues me the most about it. Not sure if I will be doing a full review on the game as I don’t have it yet but rest assured if a review will come then you will know about it beforehand. In the meantime I’ve heard good things about Triangle Strategy so feel free to check it out if you’re into the tactical RPG genre!
That’s all for now, and as always. It’s not just a game, It’s a Life.
