I have never been a massive player of the Resident Evil series, in fact pretty much the only entry in the games I have played to completion was Resident Evil 5 back in the day. Despite this I do keep up to date with the lastest news from these interesting set of games and this may very well be one of the strangest yet.
Project Resistance (yes it is a Resident Evil game, yes I know it doesn’t sound like it but trust me on this) is set to be a type of team-based co-op shooter similar in concept to games like Left 4 Dead. Even more interestingly the game is being labelled as a ‘team based survival horror’ which is an oxymoron if I’ve ever seen one. The trailer also seems to suggest that the terrifying Mr X from the Resident Evil 2 remake is being remotely controlled which might possibly suggest a players versus player-controlled monster deal similar to games like Dead by Deadlight but at this point not much information has been revealed about the title. Capcom have stated that they will show off more at this year’s Tokyo Game Show so I suppose we will see exactly what their thinking is when they show more to us.
