Things just seem to be going from bad to worse for Bethesda. See that nice looking bag in the image above? Well this is the Power Armor edition of Fallout 76 which arrived in the hands of players a few days ago and this latest controversy centers around this bag.
The store page for this talks about how it is a high quality rucksack made from Canvas, however what people who bought this collection got instead was a cheap and badly made nylon bag instead. When contacting Bethesda’s gear customer service to complain about this the response was simply that the nylon bag was in fact a media prototype and that they had no intentions of delivering an actually decently made bag to people.
After the internet rose up in fury they made things even worse by saying those who bought the Power Armor Edition could redeem a code for 500 atoms (Fallout 76’s Microtransaction currency) in game to compensate for the blatant false advertising. When converting this to real money this is worth approximately £5, which is completely worthless compared to what the price of this edition of the game costed. Bethesda seem to be digging themselves into a bigger hole with every action they take with Fallout 76, I wonder if they will ever truly recover from this.
That’s all for now, and as always. It’s not just a game, It’s a Life.
