Now that the event is finally over we can talk about what was revealed for the future of Warframe at Tennocon this year! Of course there’s also Soulframe, but I haven’t been invited to that game’s beta yet, so I can’t really give much insight into it.
Firstly however, the new skins, Banshee and Qorvex are getting new looks and the Banshee one is even coming with a brand new rework for her, very much needed. We also got told about the new update coming this Fall, Iceblade of Narin, which will feature a new ice-based Warframe and new story quests. A new nightwave season was revealed, this time featuring the Volt Protoframe Amir as the host, which I very much enjoy as Amir is an absolute dork, just like me! And also just like me he’s also bringing a version of DnD to Warframe with a new section in the Mall he resides in, I really hope they expand it.
Then of course we got the big reveal, Tau. Modern day, full, beautifully gritty in a cyberpunk/noir style filled with techno-organic robot people. I got a real Mass Effect vibe from the place, and fittingly enough, it also comes with a new Warframe that is also half Sentient based on a typical noir detective, very silly but fun stuff. The sequence they showed off even had gambling and mob bosses! Talk about a huge tonal shift from the past Tau we visited. All of this is coming this year, and Tau is planned to be expanded on a lot over the coming years, so this really is a big start for a whole range of content in Warframe. Let’s see just how much silly, gruff voices people will be able to stand in the new update, I hope he says “One more thing…” at some point!
That’s all for now, and as always. It’s not just a game, It’s a Life.
