The Team Fortress 2 SDK

Thanks Engie!

Team Fortress 2 has gone through a lot recently, and with many people giving up hope that any update would actually come to the game Valve it seems has decided to give the modders and community a chance to have their own fun and generate their own content by releasing the Source Development Kit for Team Fortress 2, alongside a slew of updates to the main development kit.

This essentially gives the base source code of the game to budding devs, allowing you to go wild with whatever you want with the game as long as it isn’t commercialised. They are even allowing you to put up this stuff on Steam, very big, and many already existing fan projects such as TF2 Classic will be very happy at this news.

While this is indeed very big for the community, it also gives off an air that Valve is done with the game, and handing the reigns to the players instead, which is fine, all games die eventually. Still, I look forward to seeing if we get like one very last content-filled update to the game before Valve officially close the book on this incredible game. I guess we will see in the future! That’s all for now, and as always. It’s not just a game, It’s a Life.
