I’ve talked about Tutotials before on this website, but something I neglected to focus on was the creation and usage of specific Tutorial Levels, zones that are designed for new players to get to grips with how their game works and how best to hone their playstyles. Think the jail dungeon of Oblivion, the shooting range of CoD 4, and even as seen above the bicycle area of Lisa the Painful (though that’s more of a mid-game tutorial level). These sections are all focused on teaching you how to play the game and keeping you in a safe environment while doing so, with some tutorials being some of the most memorable parts of some games.
