It’s suddenly gotten a lot tougher for our favourite spider-themed superhero as Sony are utilising their hold over the Spiderman to make other people sad, who would have thought.
In the new Marvel Avengers game that is set to come out later this year they recently announced that the PS4 version of the game would be getting the spider fellow as an exclusive character to play as. As you might imagine this has caused quite the uproar in the community as one of the most iconic Marvel heroes has been scooped out of the other versions of the game to be essentially held hostage by Sony, what a terrible PR move.
This is obviously to make the PS4 version more enticing to buyers and the developer of the game even stated that if you really want to play as Spiderman, get that version of the game. Not exactly a high speech skill check there but it’s blatantly the truth. As long as Sony have legal rights to the character of course they will take this opportunity to increase sales, that’s just business. In the end this is just a sad state of affairs when it comes to licensing laws but welcome to the modern day world of owning iconic IP’s and characters.
That’s all for now, and as always. It’s not just a game, It’s a Life.
