It seems as though I came into Risk of Rain 2 at a good time as the developers have announced the game will finally be coming out of Early Access and will be getting a full 1.0 release on August 11th.
The full release will come with a new playable character, The Captain, who focuses more on utility and damage, an actual end-game stage and boss to fight, loads of new items to collect and a server browser for people to be specific on what kind of multiplayer runs they want to partake in. This full release will also come with a slight price rise at $5 and will mark the game going into post development.
The game is already a great amount of fun so it’s nice to see an Early Access title actually finish it’s journey and make it to full release. You can count on my checking out the new content once it releases in August so if you’re interested in Roguelike games you might as well pick it up now before the price increase.
