Well to say this was unexpected would be putting it lightly. If you don’t know, Old School Runescape is a faithful redone version of the popular browser based MMORPG from way back in the day and for some bizzare reason the game recently broke it’s all time highest player count and became the second biggest game to play over the past weekend, how odd.
The game did recently start a new league which is essentially a way to competitively make a new character with a certain set of rules however this wouldn’t account for the sheer massive uprise in player count of around 157,445 players. Many people speculate that popular Twitch streamer Asmongold recently did a stream on the game and as such that may have contributed to the massive influx of players recently. Regardless it’s nice to see so many people return to an old MMO and while I don’t have any memories associated to the game myself I’m sure many people are reliving happier times right now and that’s just wonderful.
That’s all for now, and as always. It’s not just a game, It’s a Life.
