Of course just as I start writing yesterday’s post about a big piece of news in the gaming industry Nintendo announce a brand new set of Pokemon games, just my luck. Regardless here we are, new Pokemon games! Pokemon Scarlet and Violet to be exact.
The games are set to be released near the end of this year and will feature a region that apparently is heavily inspired by spain and portugal which is a very interesting choice of location with plenty of architectural inspirations then can take from. They also, of course, revealed the starter Pokemon as you can see above and they all look really cool. My favourite is the fire starter which looks like a very goofy crocodile, what a cool choice!
Promotional material has also revealed that the game will be an “Open-World Adventure” which hopefully means that the games will be taking inspiration from the mechanics and gameplay in Pokemon Legends: Arceus as I said in my review that I think all Pokemon games should go in this direction for the future. I guess we shall just have to wait and see just what comes up but if it is indeed based on this then you can count on me checking out this entry.
