It seems as though The Pokemon Company are going on the offensive against those who leaked Pokemon Sword and Shield ahead of time by filing for a lawsuit against those who showed screenshots and provided information about the game before the official release date.
The company stated that the leakers caused ‘Irreparable Damages’ to the game’s bottom line and as such they would be making full use of the law in order to bring the perpetrators to justice. At this point it’s unknown if they are targeting this case specifically at those who shared the information to the public or if they are going after those who had the inside information from things such as making strategy guides and them leaking this information to specific people. The former would be abhorrent and a terrible PR move for the company as it would very much seem as though they want to punish those who revealed the massive amount of cut features and general lack of polish from the games. The latter however would most likely count as a trade secret’s violation which has a lot more legal ground to cover. Regardless it seems as though TPC care more about punishing those who showed their mistakes rather than not making them in the first place which is a lovely analogy to how they handled these games in the first place.
That’s all for now, and as always. It’s not just a game, It’s a Life.
