As predicted from a few posts ago Bethesda announced a brand new expansion for The Elder Scrolls Online known as Necrom: Shadows over Morrowind. As you can most likely guess from the title it’s a lovecraft inspired expansion but in the world of the Elder Scrolls, always a treat! The expansion is set in the eastern part of Morrowind, where most of the dead and ancestor worship is done, and is of course based around Hermaeus Mora, Daedric god of Knowledge and Secrets (and tentacles).
The expansion will come with a variety of new things including new armor, weapons, companions and of course new landscapes. Uniquely though it’s also coming with a new class, The Arcanist! The Arcanist is a mage class that is themed around Hermaeus Mora, so a proper daedric mage class that does things like uses things like use runes of protection, turns arms into tentacles to attack and other aspects of forbidden magics. It all sounds very interesting and I for one am very interested at the idea of a new magic-focused class.
The main expansion is set to come out on June 5 2023 but as with other expansions smaller introductions are coming out prior with the introductory quest, Scribes of Fate, coming out on March 13th. I don’t know if this will bring me back into the game but it will certainly be intriguing enough for me to consider checking out at the very least. That’s all for now, and as always.
