Of course on the week I decide to take a break from covering news something big in the gaming industry happens, it’s like I’m cursed to forever be late to the party when it comes to covering news like this. Well if you didn’t happen to already know then I’ll just state it here, Microsoft purchased Zenimax Media for $7.5 Billion and as such due to this they are now the owners of Bethesda and all their exclusive properties, go figure.
The acquisition is one of the biggest ever in the gaming industry and could see Microsoft really hammering down that exclusivity with game titles like the new Elder Scrolls game or even whatever Fallout project might be next and this very much places the new Xbox in the lead for having a stronger game lineup prepared for the future. Alongside this Microsoft also confirmed that all Bethesda titles would be coming to the Xbox Game Pass and and that new titles would also come to the service too making it an even better deal as some of my absolute favourite games are included in that!
So another day another big company buys a studio, let’s just hope this doesn’t end up becoming a Rare situation however with the positive steps Microsoft has taken recently in regards to consumer friendliness and working closely with the PC market I think it will all be fine, let’s just get rid of that awful Bethesda Launcher now.
