Over the past few days the ARPG scene has been bustling with plenty of news concerning the biggest names in the genre. We first got some new information and a gameplay walkthrough of Path of Exile 2 which certainly looks to make the original game far prettier and fast paced. I also love that this sequel is just essentially a super-boost to the original game as it will also be free to play and you can play both the first and second storylines in the same game, ow that’s what I call consistency.
The other big news dump was of course the start of the closed alpha of Diablo 2: Resurrected which showed off the small gameplay additions they are making and the complete visual overhaul of the game, with even the standard remake/remaster thing that has a button that makes the game go back to the original visuals. Overall it looks nice but due to the history of Blizzard remasters I will still be holding off until the reviews come in for it. I also find it funny just comparing these 2 projects as PoE2 is a completely free game but has so much more content and story additions than Blizzard’s current offering, I guess comparing it to Diablo 4 will be the big clash of the ARPG titans.
