Steam continue to improve their reputation as eing the de-facto platform for PC as theyr ecently announced a new family-orientated system known as ‘Steam Families’.
While they previously did have a family system for Steam it was a it limited in scope, ut now it has been greatly expanded and improved. Now families of up to 6 people can all share a single Steam library and play different games at any time, with the ability to play the same game also being possible upon purchase of another copy. It also gives parents greater control and interactivity with their kids upon the Steam account, such as allowing children to request to parents on purchasing games in their shopping cart, which they can do, but locking them out of purchasing the games and add-ons themselves to stop the phantom credit card debts. It’s a great system and it really helps to make the Steam account feel like a centralising system within the family unit. It’s currently in beta so more improvements are sure to come and with the adult population becoming more and more into games with their children this may be the start of a great way for families to bond together.
That’s all for now, and as always. It’s not just a game, It’s a Life.
