Sony’s PC Launcher

Probably a bit of a better UI than this though…

Sony has been killing it recently with them deciding to place many of their First-Party title onto PC via Steam which has allowed many people who previously have never owned a Playstation console to try out some of the platform’s best games such as Horizon: Zero Dawn and Uncharted.

With all of this however something interesting was brought up in the recent PC port of the playstation exclusive Insomniac’s Spider-Man game. Within the files of the game numerous outlets and players found references to a “Playstation PC Launcher” which absolutely sounds like Sony’s own personal launcher. Considering that up until this point they have been releasing their games on Steam it’s likely that this will simply be an additional launcher that you start the actual games from after you press play on them in your Steam library however it’s equally likely that they will do a silly move like Bethesda and try to make their own launcher exclusively without the help of Steam, hopefully that does not end up being the case.

Regardless it’s great to see a company that has so far been rigidly against change finally embrace the world of PC gaming. Maybe we will even get an official port of Shadow of the Colossus for PC… think of the mods!

That’s all for now, and as always. It’s not just a game, It’s a Life.
