Ever since Twitch decided that it could use it’s community to create something more than just a viewing platform they have dipped their toes into several projects, one such venture will be coming into closed Beta soon and I don’t know how to feel about it.
Dubbed ‘Twitch Sings’ this new feature of the site will allow streamers to sing karaoke to people who are watching the stream with people being able to make suggestions to the people on camera, choose songs and interact with the virtual stage around them. The concept sounds like a fun party game type of experience however one thing that hasn’t been mentioned is how exactly people can be chosen to take part in the feature.
From what has been shown most of the people singing are in some kind of studio so we aren’t sure whether anyone can sing from their bedroom (which would be the ideal option) or if you instead have to be chosen by Twitch itself and have to go to a physical location which would lead to an even bigger skewer in the workings of the Twitch Elite. Either way this should prove to be an interesting venture for Twitch and we shall see if it ends up becoming a success or not.
That’s all for now, and as always. It’s not just a game, It’s a Life.
