The schedule for this year’s SGDQ has been revealed and we have a bunch of great games that will be played by professional speedrunners for charity. This year sees a big influx in VR games, most likely due to the ease of setting up a VR game at home rather than at a physical event, but there are plenty of big hits here to watch and enjoy too.
Some of the ones I am most excited for are runs for Shadow of the Colossus, Phasmophobia, Minecraft, Super Mario Sunshine and perhaps most interestingly a speedrun of the beta maps for Ocarina of Time which will be a very interesting deep dive into the development of the iconic game and just what stuff was cut from the final product. The event is set to start on June 26th and will run until July 3rd so be sure to keep an eye out on this event if you’re looking to see some incredible technical play!
