Mashing genres together seems to be a favourite of indie games lately and this latest title set to be released nearf the end of August hopes to be a mix of both Harvest Moon and Dragon Quest.
Re: Legend is a monster farming JRPG set on a small island in which you wake up one day with no memory of who you are and how you got there. It’s up to you to find out more about yourself, get to know the local people, do quests and of course do lots of farming. The difference between this and a lot of other farming games is the focus on both JRPG style traditional questing as well as monster taming and rearing, meaning this is more like a creature raising game than anything like Stardew Valley.
The early access trailer looks cute and it does seem to boast a lot of deep mechanics which if it’s like any other kind of monster-catching game will no doubt be set to have a tonne of hidden mechanics and background statistics to make it a very enjoyable and deep experience. It’s certainly worth checking when it comes out into Early Access and I look forward to see how the experience will hold up.
