Team Fortress 2 is one of the most beloved multiplayer shooters of all time so it’s no secret that many fans are clambering for something new to bring to the game as Valve have seemingly stopped updating it content-wise. Well it seems we may have modders to thanks for a new development and since the recent positive news concerning the Half Life 2 remaster came out this project may very well go down the same path.
Titled “Team Fortress: Source 2” modder team Amper Software have taken it upon themselves to remake the entirety of Team Fortress 2 in the new Source 2 engine that powers some of Valve’s more modern entires such as DOTA 2 and Half Life: Alyx. The project is indeed gargantuan and considering the finicky nature of it also being a multiplayer game it isn’t as simple as converting all the graphics to the new engine so it looks nicer. Still work has been going steady on it and while it is very much still in early development considering how supportive Valve has been concerning modding projects I can very well see this becoming a big thing down the line.
The team currently consists of 20 volunteers but if you feel you can help then check out the project right here and see what they are currently up to! That’s all for now, and as always. It’s not just a game, It’s a Life.
