Pokemon Presents August 2021

Now this just looks lovely

Apparently there was a big Pokemon announcement stream that just took place, weird that I didn’t know until it had already passed. Still regardless there weren’t many announcements made that we didn’t already know about but regardless here are a few of the things they told us.

Firstly Pokemon Unite, the Pokemon MOBA, will be releasing on mobile September 22nd this year and one of their current mobile outings Pokemon Cafe will be getting a revamp later in the year. Pokemon GO will also be getting creatures from the Galar region very soon which will bring those games finally up to speed with the rest of the series.

The biggest things shown though were of course more gameplay revealed for the Diamond/Pearl remakes and more detailed gameplay of Pokemon Legends: Arceus. The Diamond/Pearl remakes showed off content that is brand new to the original games such as wild-pokemon areas in the Sinnoh underground, partner Pokemon and trainer customisation which confirms that the games are not just retellings of the original entries which is a massive sigh of relief. Pokemon Legends: Arceus however seems to really be shaking up the formula with a full open world for you to explore, the trainer being able to actually get damaged and hurt by the creatures roaming the land, brand new battle mechanics, new forms and evolutions for existing Pokemon and a very distinct time period set far in the past of this world.

This all makes the upcoming entries far more interesting and have left a better impression than then did last time they were discussed on stream. I guess we shall just have to wait and see just how they are on release before we can make full judgements however. That’s all for now, and as always. It’s not just a game, It’s a Life.
