We’re only a few months away from the long awaited and highly anticipated remaster of Persona 4 which I will be playing the heck out of. Interestingly however, footage of another Persona remake just appeared online on a Japanese file sharing website and this one seems to show a full modern remake of Persona 1 of all things!
Persona 1 and 2 are interesting titles that feel fairly separate from the later Persona games. Whilst they do tend to share similar aspects of their gameplay, being high-school focused titles with monster catching and standard RPG battling, the whole life-sim aspects are very minimal leading to a game more similar to other standard JRPG’s at the time, which makes sense given the fact that these are very old games. If this footage is real, and they are indeed thinking of modernising these titles, I’ll be very interested to see how they translate to a more modern audience and if they will become well appreciated classics, or relics of a bygone era.
That’s all for now, and as always. It’s not just a game, It’s a Life.
