Party Like It’s…

Introducing the latest hit boyband, N-Fested!

Tennocon came and went this weekend and despite a few technical hurdles (and cringe-worthy heckling from the crowd) they had plenty to show this time. They of course had a lot to show off on their new game, Soulframe, which now has an Autumn release date! However, the main event was the gameplay demonstration of Warframe 1999 which showed quite a few interesting things.

It reminded me of a cheesy hacker/superhero movie of course from the 90’s as you play with a cast of humanoid Warframes that you can message on a classic style instant messenger, and even romance apparently! The new open world features motorbike travel to get around, an interesting new layout of long-winding streets to play in with a lot more verticality and of course plenty of CRT zombies to fight (yeah, that’s a thing).

It even showed off a very interesting system of adding the Infestation, the game’s version of Halo’s Flood, to the game’s ‘Lich’ system in the main game. What would happen if a computer virus in the 90’s that stole and dealt with music content was left for thousands of years… would it transform into a deformed and tentacle-infested boy band imitation that used loud pop music to crack planets? Warframe says yes! Overall while the actual content wasn’t much additional that we weren’t expecting it managed to throw a few twists and turns into the formula to make it a memorable time. Now just to wait till Winter for it to come out!

That’s all for now, and as always. It’s not just a game, It’s a Life.
