Paragon From the Ashes

Talk about edge…

Do any of you remember Paragon? It was a MOBA released a few years ago by Epic Games and was subsequently shut down because it wasn’t popular enough. Well as it turns out there have been plenty of projects to actually bring the game back and Epic took the steps to actually provide the assets of the game to those who wanted to try and make a new project from it, a very cool decision by the developers.

Well now it seems the quintessential revival of this game is coming soon with Paragon: The Overprime which not only uses all the assets of the original Paragon and thus looks close to identical but also has been given the blessing by Epic Games to even use the game’s branding and marketing materials, you can’t get much more of an official endorsement than that!

The game is being developed by South Korean company Netmarble and will be a free-to-play version of the original game that is set to be released into Early Access on PC within November after their final stress tests. It’s interesting to see a game being brought back by a completely different company with the blessings of the original creator and I wish stuff like this happened more as it really helps push game platforms to be labours of love while also allowing old fans of a game to experience it once again. Now let’s just hope the game itself doesn’t suck.

That’s all for now, and as always. It’s not just a game, It’s a Life.
