Do you remember a while back we discussed how Cyberpunk 2077 would be getting a new expansion called Phantom Liberty that aims to be the only story expansion that the game would receive. Well we speculated at the time if this DLC would be a free expansion after the disaster that was the initial release of the game and I personally stated that I wouldn’t be interested unless it was free. Spoiler alert, CD Projekt Red have confirmed it will not be free.
Now this is dissapointing to hear but it makes sense in the context of other expansions they have released such as the excellent ones for The Witcher 3. I personally think this should have come as an apology piece to the fans who bought the game initially and didn’t like it but I’m sure lots of money went into this production so what do I know. After all it would seem that thanks to the Edgerunner anime interest in the Cyberpunk 2077 world has reached another peak so perhaps this is exactly the reasoning they can justify for having you pay for this new piece of DLC. Regardless as stated this no longer holds my interest and I just hope it launches better than the actual game did.
