With the surprise announcement of another Nintendo Direct it got a lot of people excited! This time it was an indie and partner showcase, so not too many huge hits to talk about. As such, with the amount of stuff announced here I won’t be doing a complete breakdown and instead just encourage you all to check out the direct stream archived on Nintendo’s Youtube channel to see everything announced.
I will talk about a couple things that I liked the look of though. Date Everything, the game you see above, is a very silly dating simulator that humanises everything in a single house and allows you to date them or become friends. Hilarious, stupid, and I can’t wait to see it come out. There was also a really cool looking RPG called Moth Kubit that looked equally adorable and fun to play, maybe a new indie RPG hit? Guess we will find out! There was a really cool looking hoverboard-based open world game called Star Overdrive that really gives me old PS2 second party game vibes, so hopefully it’s good. Finally, and perhaps most unexpected for me, was a remaster of the 2 MySims games, old Wii titles that I never thought would see the light of day again. These are not very beloved games as they proved to be equally frustrating and too dumbed down, but I’ll be interested to see their reception once they are re-released for the Switch. Maybe they will get a better chance the second time round…
