Nintendo E3 2018 Conference

The grandad company is here

Finally we wrap off the big contenders with Nintendo. As with previous years they didn’t physically show up to the event but instead created a pre-recorded video to show off all their products. I actually think this is one of the best ways to do it as it minimizes cringe and screw-ups on stage. Anyway let’s see what Nintendo have been cooking.

Here they go again, adding the word ‘super’ or ‘new’ to the title

A brand new Mario Party was shown first and this brought a huge buzz of excitement to fans as it did away with that stupid car system of the previous game for a more classic gameplay style. With it being on a portable format and having the ability to link switch screens together to create new ways on playing the minigames I feel this could be a real winner in the series.

Sleepy time

A brand new Fire Emblem game, Fire Emblem: Three Houses. The next entry in the series has a lovely aesthetic and even has your normal soldiers fighting alongside your hero units in cutscenes, something which is far different from the rest of the series. While I probably won’t pick this up I still think it looks good.

Animeeeee!

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is getting some DLC and while I may not know much about the series I do know that the reaction to this is with much excitement so I suppose those of you who enjoy this series will enjoy this piece of news too!

Look at that roster!

And of course the biggest announcement of them all, the Super Smash Bros Ultimate announcement. This was the main thing they focused on and hoo boy this is probably the game I am most excited for this year. They showed off tonnes of gameplay and described so many changes. They revealed that every single character from the series and every stage will be returning and will all be updated to be viable in combat. Alongside this they also showed new moves that can be performed, a new categorisation for clone characters called “Echo Fighters” and even a brand new fan favourite character, Ridley from the Metroid series. This looks to be one of the best Smash games ever made and I simply cannot wait for it to come out in December.

And that’s your lot, a bit of a short one this year from Nintendo but a massive amount of hype! Tomorrow I will give my closing thoughts on the event and everything that was shown. Thank you so much for sticking with me this week and stay tuned for tomorrow!

That’s all for now, and as always. It’s not just a game, It’s a Life.
