Another series of months, another Nintendo Direct! Here-a we go!
First off, Splatoon 3 DLC! Cool, now everything has a robot aesthetic, reminds me of that one bit in Nier: Automata… hmm… Anyway more dlc for Splatoon fans! We also got the announcement that a remake of Mario vs Donkey Kong is coming to the Switch, an odd choice considering I don’t think anyone was clamoring for it but interesting nonetheless.
We got a look at plenty of indies, and even some more footage from the Mario RPG Remake which looks gorgeous. We also finally got information on that Peach game which is now called Princess Peach: Showtime which actually looks quite interesting. It’s going for a show-star type game where you take part in shows as different versions of Peach, interesting idea and I can’t wait to see what silly outfits you can dress her in!
We got a new Contra game which actually looks a lot like the classics this time instead of the horrible mess they tried previously. Let’s hope that Konami don’t fumble it this time! Also we were introduced to a remaster of Luigi’s Mansion 2, which I’m fairly certain got a remaster not too long ago so… that’s an interesting choice, or maybe I’m thinking of the original? I genuinely can’t remember. They then announced that new F-Zero game! It’s a… 99player battle royale racer remake of the original… only for Nintendo Switch Online users… I am suitably not impressed. Finally we got the surprise announcement of a remaster of Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door which is generally considered to be one of the best Paper Mario games, great to see it here!
So a lot of ups and downs, I’m just happy that these are still going and continuing to be a big event to fans! Let’s hope next time we will actually get some Metroid prime 4 news… That’s all for now, and as always. It’s not just a game, It’s a Life.
