Mixed and Confused

Seriously?

So as it stands currently Elden Ring’s newest DLC, Shadow of the Erdtree, currently sits at ‘Mixed’ user reviews on Steam which confused me immensely. The DLC is fantastic in my opinion, so seeing so many people having negative experiences really threw a wrench in how I viewed the new release. So I looked into it, and it’s a mix of reasonable issues and very silly complaints.

Firstly the reasonable ones, the main thing is that people are complaining about performance issues since the DLC was announced. I myself have experienced issues, mainly on start up with it taking an absolute age to load, but otherwise my performance was fine. Perhaps it’s different on other machines, but paying for a DLC and then it not working very well is an understandable gripe. What isn’t reasonable is all the people saying the DLC is too hard because of the new scaling. Personally, I really enjoy this system and think that it actively encourages exploration of the world, one of the best parts of Elden Ring. As such, perhaps those people should look around the world a bit more and actually enjoy being challenged on their god-like super builds rather than just heading directly to the first boss and hoping to take it down no challenge.

What do you all think about this? Let us know in the comments. That’s all for now, and as always. It’s not just a game, It’s a Life.
