A while back there was a very good indie hardcore RPG known as Outward that aimed to be a difficult and classical gaming experience, and mainly succeeded at that. In fact, it succeeded so much that it looks as though it is now getting a sequel!
Outward 2 looks to be building on the original foundation that made the first game so appealing. It’s difficult, it’s vast and it looks to keep the feeling of an old school rpg in mind for the whole experience, plus it looks pretty to boot! You can check out the pre-alpha gameplay above in a trailer released by the developers. No release date currently, but considering the status of the game currently it may be a while until it’s fully ready to release. Still, if you’re looking for a challenging experience, be sure to keep an eye out on this one!
