While browsing the Steam upcoming library I found an interesting looking game that could end up being a pretty big deal. It’s called ‘Everreach: Project Eden’ and from the gameplay shown it looks a bit like an indie take on Mass Effect.
You play as a member of the Everreach security division who are an organisation that have colonised an alien world however after some disasters they have tasked you with investigating what is disrupting the colony and find out if any ancient life still remain. It’s an interesting premise and the aesthetics are most definitely reminding me of Mass Effect with the neon blues and slick future tech. Apparently the game will have a huge emphasis on story and the many Mass Effect comparisons are due to the fact that some of the team working on the game also did some work on Mass Effect 3 so the inspiration is most definitely showing. It still looks a little bit janky in some of the combat scenarios however the first Mass Effect game also had that problem so who knows if the dialogue and world are really well done this may end up being as much of a hit, time will tell.
The game is slated to come out this September so I will most definitely be keeping an eye out to see if this ends up being something big. That’s all for now, and as always. It’s not just a game, It’s a Life.
