GDQ, Games Done Quick, have always been known as nice folks who support the speedrunning community in an effort to raise money for various charities. Recently, a massive storm, Hurricane Helene, hit Florida and caused a massive amount of inlane damage, which the GDQ Staff are trying to help with the relief efforts by hosting a quick new speedrunning event, Disaster Relief Done Quick.
It will work like the usual GDQ affair, get speedrunners on to show off their talents and receive massive donations during the runs, but will only be hosted for a few days, being between the 11th and 13th October, and ill be entirely online with all the profits going towards the relief efforts. It’s a nice way to quickly raise money and hopefully will leave to an actual impactful effort on helping people recover. Be sure to tune in on their Twitch channel during the event and lets help people while seeing some good talent on show!
