An interesting thing to note about the Chinese video game market is that despite the ban on many games within the country it was still possible to livestream games hosted on chinese online streaming platforms, who owuld have thought.
However it seems as though the Chinese government has gotten wind of this and as such have declared that it is now illegal stream ‘unauthorised or unpublished’ games within the country. How exactly they are planning on policing this is unknown however according to insiders this has been in talks for a while now and only recently has now gone into effect.
This all seems to be a reaction to the popularity of Elden Ring within the Chinese streaming community despite not being approved for sale within the country as of yet. It’s a sad state of affairs that those within China who will be even further isolated from the rest of the world when it comes to learning more about gaming news and releases. We can only hope that things will get better as the years go on.
That’s all for now, and as always. It’s not just a game, It’s a Life.
