And Another One

The tweets in question

It seems as though Borderlands 3 cannot catch a break recently as another controversy has sprung up which is a very serious allegation. David Eddings, who previously handled head of business at Gearbox and was the voice of Claptrap in the Borderlands series, was asked about why he wasn’t reprising his role as the character in the new entry. His reply was about how Gearbox wasn’t willing to pay him for his work as he wanted and so he parted ways with the company without coming back to do the voice.

After Randy Pitchford however mentioned on Twitter his reasonings for why he believed David was simply a disgruntled former employee of the business and so his response was not to be taken seriously David fired back with a series of Tweets which resulted in David accusing Randy of physically assaulting him during a GDC conference back in 2017. This is of course extremely serious and if it comes to light that this is indeed true then Randy could be headed for a lot of hot water in the coming months.

2K recently released a statement in which they refused to comment on the situation which just screams to me that they know what happened but don’t want to talk about it however of course this is all speculation. This a massive shame as Randy seems to be going down a dark path which is dragging Borderlands 3 down with it and ruining what otherwise looks like a good game. I wonder how this will develop further.

That’s all for now, and as always. It’s not just a game, It’s a Life.
