I’m a sucker for cool game concepts and this may very well be one of the most fun and interesting ideas I’ve come across in a long time. So I’m a huge fan of Hypnospace Outlaw,a fantastic simulation game of an early internet experience, and turns out some madman from the development team wanted to make a spin-off, using one of the characters from that very game.
Hence the creation of, and get ready for this, ‘Slayers X: Terminal Aftermath: Vengance of the Slayer’, yes that is its real name. It’s a game made by Zane, a grown up version of a teen that was present in Hypnospace, and features all the blood, explosions and juvenile humour of someone who never truly got past their peak in the 90’s and mid 2000’s. A first person shooter similar to Doom it has all the insane shoot outs and key hunting you would expect from such a game, but shockingly it also has a lot of heart too and really acts as a character piece to this fictional adult stuck in a teenage mindset who just wants to do right by his kid. It’s a shockingly well presented game with a lot of heart, and it’s even better by the fact that the developer is even playing the character of Zane while promoting it, gotta commend it for the bit.
I won’t be doing a full review on it as it’s a bit short but I highly recommend you check it out if you love shooters or you enjoyed Hypnospace as there’s a lot to love here. That’s all for now, and as always. It’s not just a game, It’s a Life.
