A lovely Time of No Crunch

Groovy man!

One of the games I failed to mention in my summary of E3 (due purely to the amount of things I had to mention purely and nothing to do with distaste for the game or anything) was Psychonauts 2 and how it is soon to be releasing in the middle of August on the Game Pass which means I will definitely be checking it out, hooray!

A nice touch to note for the release however is the fact that the Senior Producer for the project, Kevin Johnson, has stated publicly that the game was made with absolutely no crunching or crunch culture being used within Double Fine in order to produce the game. Sure this meant that the game was delayed a couple of times prior to release but it’s lovely to see a game that has outwardly been proud of not working their developers to death and I hope many other companies continue this trend if for nothing else than an excellent PR boost in the public eye.
