Man I seem to be talking a lot about source-based games recently! To those of you that don’t know, Garry’s Mod (also known as GMod) was a game created by Garry Newman which was designed to allow players to create and modify items within the source engine to use however they wish. It was essentially the best sandbox creation tool available for use with the source engine and it has been teased over the years that a ‘spiritual successor’ to the project using Unreal Engine 4 could possibly happen but with Garry himself teasing hints of it by using memes it seems as though this could become a reality.
The name of the new game is called Sandbox (displayed as S&Box, I really like that title) and will hopefully be the spiritual successor to GMod that everyone has wanted for the past many years. Garry hasn’t officially confirmed that the project is picking up steam again (I just wrote thatg and didn’t even mean to make a pun, I’ll take it) but with renewed interest in source projects thanks to the latest Half Life game then surely this will be the best time for people to get excited in a brand new project from the master of Source himself. I certainly will be keeping up to date with this that’s for certain!
That’s all for now, and as always. It’s not just a game, It’s a Life.
