Something that has been eating away at me as a lover of all things video game is the concept of a crafted gaming experience versus that of a random but limitless experience. Most people would say that Rogue-like games and those relying upon procedural generation mainly came into their swing from games such as The Binding of Isaac or Minecraft and would say they invalidate crafted gameplay stories and experiences. I however would have to disagree with that statement as there is plenty of room for both genres in the gaming sphere but what I am most curious about is what my readership’s preferences are.
So I ask all of you lovely people, do you care more for a shorter, limited but more focused personally crafted gaming experience or would you rather have the unlimited playability but scattershot approach of a rogue-like or random game? Share your opinions with us all and let’s see if we can get an interesting discussion going concerning this unique aspect of the gaming industry.
That’s all for now, and as always. It’s not just a game, It’s a Life.
