In many RPg games (or games in which you can choose how your character develops) I always like to choose tank characters as I feel they represent me the best and I enjoy taking as much punishment as I can while helping my team. It’s no surprise then that when I play fantasy games I always seem to gravitate towards Paladin type characters, those that use both brawn and magic together to create a healing, buffing and damage taking machine.
I got back into this mindset after playing some Path of Exile and trying out the Templar character who it turns out is exactly what I am looking for. Good healing, can take a lot of damage and can smite with furious anger anyone who dares fight me. While I do love this type of character however most of them are also tied with more religious themes or at least who serve gods. I’m not into that sort of thing but roleplaying is all about stepping out of who you are I suppose.
