I’ve been playing a fun wee RPG known as Rainbow Billy: The Curse of the Leviathan recently and it’s been an interesting experience for sure. You play as a small boy called Billy who must venture round the world to make friends and bring colour back into the world of imagination land to stop the curse of the leviathan from taking over.
It’s a game with a lot of hidden depth and the Paper mario vibes are of course apparent. The battle system too is interesting as it’s very similar to old Paper Mario RPG’s but instead of battling you actually talk with your enemy to work out their insecurities and recruit them to your team. Think of it like a mix between Paper Mario, Undertale and Pokemon. It’s a unique system that’s for sure and while I have not yet completed it I’m interested to see where this goes as there is certainly more here than the colourful visuals and fun designs would imply. It’s also on sale right now on Steam so now is a good time to check it out if you’re interested!
That’s all for now, and as always. It’s not just a game, It’s a Life.
