Recently I got to thinking about Animal Crossing and made a realisation about just how important the most recent entry, New Horizons, was for many people, myself included.
During the pandemic days of 2020 Animal Crossing: New Horizons came out literally just as the lockdown was beginning and as such me and my wife were able to enjoy the game together even with the apocalypse happening outside (according to some). This game is easily the longest me and my wife have ever played a game together and we cultivated our island together as a wonderful activity, despite us both doing work from home. It allowed us to truly appreciate the time we had together and, well, I actually found lockdown to be a fairly pleasant time because of this.
This got me thinking, there were certainly other games that worked as a great distraction while everyone else was stuck inside. TF2 got its biggest player spike at that time, Half Life: Alyx was allowing people to escape into the virtual world and many other games really flourished during this period of time. So I was curious to know, what game was keeping you sane during lockdown? If it was Animal Crossing like me, what was your favourite memory you made during this time? Let us know in the comments!
That’s all for now, and as always. It’s not just a game, It’s a Life.
