I’ve found myself recently playing more Elden Ring on my first character, specifically to prepare myself for the upcoming DLC, Shadow of the Erdtree, that is hopefully not too far off now. This involved doing things such as getting more items, fixing up my build and defeating all the optional bosses I needed to so that when the time comes I can hop into the DLC as prepared as I can be.
I tend to do this quite frequently with games I know are getting new content or expansions, preparing in advance to enjoy even more content. It almost works like a way of extending the enjoyment of a game, especially if it’s one that allows for multiple playthroughs. Ultimately however getting an excuse to play any game I enjoy for more, especially if new content is coming, is an opportunity I will always take.
