A few days ago I returned to the world of Animal Crossing: New Horizons but not for any kind of content update or new features, I came back to celebrate the island’s anniversary with my partner!
Indeed I have not been experiencing much of the game recently as my girlfriend prefers to play it more than myself but that did not stop me from fixing up the garden, cleaning up the trash and making our island look as lovely as possible. We then went to our museum, sat down and went through the photo album on the Switch to see just how much our island and characters have developed over the year.
It’s a funny experience seeing just how much things changed. While the world around us was descending into chaos with the pandemic, civil unrest and climate change we had a fun time on a virtual island developing the attractions and watching our town grow. It was a nice wee experience and really reminded me just how glad I am that I was stuck inside this lockdown with someone I truly love, not many people can say that.
