‘NetEase’? Are Suing Activision/Blizzard

Talk about big corpo being upset with one another…

EDIT: Hey, I don’t get to do this very often! So turns out this report is actually incorrect! As it turns out the CHINESE COURT SYSTEM, you know that thing that runs the law there? Yeah they actually got this incorrect, instead of NetEase suing Activision/Blizzard it’s just some serial litigator called Yang Jun. Bit of a massive blunder there China eh? Anyway, just take the rest of this article as a funny misunderstanding, I sure have.

Not too long ago Activision/Blizzard had to pull out of the Chinese gaming market due to contract disagreements and general big corporation shenanigans that caused their relationship with their local distributer to the Chinese market, NetEase, to sour.
Not too long ago Activision/Blizzard had to pull out of the Chinese gaming market due to contract disagreements and general big corporation shenanigans that caused their relationship with their local distributer to the Chinese market, NetEase, to sour.

Well it seems as though the relationship has truly reached a low point as NetEase has now threatened legal action against Activision/Blizzard for various things such as not providing refunds to Chinese players for pulling their services and instead leaving all the refund processes to come out of the wallet of NetEase, unsold merchandise inventory and other such issues. The full amount they want from this legal battle seems to be around $44 million though it would seem as though Activision/Blizzard aren’t giving this the time of day. It’s not abundantly clear at the moment who is truly to blame here however what can be gleamed from this is that they certainly won’t be welcomed back in China anytime soon and this may be quite the legal battle to discuss in the gaming sphere for some time. Don’t you just love it when rich people start yelling at each other so loud that the internet itself can sit and watch the carnage?

That’s all for now, and as always. It’s not just a game, It’s a Life.
