It’s been a long time coming but Niantic, the creators of Pokemon Go, are releasing their brand new game to the whole world this Friday known as Harry Potter: Wizards Unite.
Like the premise of Go this will be an AR mobile game that seeks to have people wandering around the real world to take part in wizarding activities such as battle evil creatures, learning spells, studying creatures and more. The game has already been released locally in a few different countries in early beta however now the game will be going worldwide and in a fully released state which I’m sure Niantic will be very happy about.
I however am concerned about this game. Mainly due to the fact that while Pokemon Go was using a pretty simple formula and making it easy for all to access this game will be using a rather outdated movie/book series and hoping that people will fall in love with it just like how big of a success Go was. Alongside this it looks to be treading many of the same paths as the previous game which a lot of people have already given up on due to the slow addition of extra content. As a result I certainly hope they don’t expect this to reach the heights of a cult hit like their Pokemon entry was. However I am always happy to be proven wrong so let’s see what happens on Friday eh?
That’s all for now, and as always. It’s not just a game, It’s a Life.
