A large amount of new details have been revealed about the brand new Legendary edition of the Mass Effect trilogy with some good points and some bad points that make for an interesting series of news stories.
Firstly it was confirmed that the multiplayer for Mass Effect 3 would not be present in the remastered version which is a huge shame as I remember quite enjoying the co-op multiplayer mode for the chance to play as the other Mass Effect races. Secondly it was noted that one of the DLC additions to the first game in the series, Pinnacle Station, would not be present in the trilogy as apparently the original files have all been lost or corrupted and as such the DLC itself is unable to be brought into the game. I never really played any of the extra content for the first game so as long as all the other additions are present in 2 and 3 I am ok with this. After looking up reviews it seems as though Punnacle Station was rather mediocre anyway so not much lost there. Finally the biggest piece of news is that the Mass Effect 1 would be getting gameplay and UI changes in order to make it fit more in line with the rest of the series. This is huge news and makes me very happy to know that they are willing to change some of the more dodgy design decisions from the first entry as that was one of the biggest things holding me back from doing another full playthrough. So it seems this ‘Legendary’ collection might be not as fully complete as some had hoped however I will still wait to see if the upgrades are significant enough to convince me at taking another crack at the Mass Effect world. I certainly have missed it.
That’s all for now, and as always. It’s not just a game, It’s a Life.
