Strategy games are usually set on certain paths depending on what time period or fantasy setting you base them in. If it’s a historical game then it will usually span the entire globe and will focus upon the big empires of the world, but not this time. I found Northgard as I scoured the Steam store catch my eye due to the inclusion of the words “Norse Mythology” which immediately sprang to mind the gods of Asgard smiting foes with lightning and pillaging villages. Needless to say the game sounds incredibly intriguing.
Playing as the Vikings in a strategy game will be interesting as many consider them barbarians fit only for running into the enemy and smashing them but this game seems to indicate the use of various historical and fantastical elements that will make this a compelling strategy games. A mix of the real and fiction always interests me so I look forward to seeing how well this game does.
That’s all for now, and as always. It’s not just a game, It’s a Life.
